The woman who two years ago stopped shaving.

Listen people, life is about evolution. We're allowed to change our minds and opinions about things as we learn more information. As well as, when we grow and heal. I am on a healing journey. My post about me not shaving, I stated it was a trauma response. I knew it was I was rebelling against shaving because at the tender age of 12 my right to choose for myself was taken from me forcefully. And I'd just adapted to it my whole young adult life. So I took time to live with my hair to see how I felt and how I liked seeing my body. 

Well, both versions of me, I love. I TRULY feel like, it should be your right to choose. However, being more in my feminine energy lately. I find myself liking the feel of a slick, smooth body. That super slippery when wet feeling if you will *winks. However, I am prone to ingrown hairs and was looking for a solution. As shaving is taxing for me because it still can be triggering depending on how I'm feeling. Not to mention to get a close shave I shave with just a razor. I was tired of all the nicks and cuts. Plus I have an abundance of hair, if i shave today. It's a baby afro tomorrow. Heck midday it's already growing back, if I shaved in the morning. That's all my body hair legs included. UGH, it to be triggered getting through the task just to have it grow back so fast, that was another reason I opted out of shaving for a while. Why does it grow so fast? I DON'T KNOW I JUST WORK HERE. 

Anyway, while getting my brows waxed I remembered, my girl also did Brazilian waxing. I actually wished to get one back in '14 for my honeymoon. But plans fell through and I never thought of it again. Honestly, it was for the best. I'm beginning to understand that evolving into the woman I am today. My ex-husband would not have appreciated nor would have known how to maintain her. So, us splitting was really for the best. But I digress. 

Ella owner and operator of Body Beauty Skin Care, gave me the tea on Ingrown hairs, razor bumps, and Brazilian waxing. As she downloaded a plethora of knowledge on me, I noticed her passion for her craft. This gave me the confidence I needed to schedule my first appointment. Excitingly, told me what to expect and how prep for the service.

Preparation:
First, she advised me to stop shaving. Your hair has to be the length of at least a grain of rice. 
Secondly, to aid in the ingrown problem AND prep she recommended, Bush Balm for exfoliation. 
Thirdly, wear boxer brief style underwear, to mitigate friction after the services. 

I was very anxious to get it over with, to say the least. I'm not afraid or nervous when it comes to trying new things or change but I do get anxious. The anticipation of not knowing what to expect makes me anxious. I get too anxious and throw myself into a mini panic attack. Just before entering her service room. I took a deep breath and said a prayer. Something, I always TRY to remember to do before starting something new. 

She greeted me with a warm smile. From there she informed me of what to expect. She was clear and concise with her words. After she turned on some music and sang to it. This helped me relax a little as I am a BIG MUSIC LOVER. Plus, silence would have made me feel awkward. The fact that she operated just the same, as if she were waxing my brows made me feel better. She proceeded to prep me for waxing. NOW, if you follow me you know I don't like just anyone looking at my "girl", let alone down there messing with her. 

So as soon as she lifted the robe, I had half a brain to go NOPE NOT TODAY. But I took a deep breath and said a prayer. Tiarra we can do this. It's ok we gave consent we're not in danger. Just breathe and listen to the music you were calm before. REMAIN CALM, WE CAN DO THIS. Y'all, that first wax IT HURT. YEAH, that's a different pain. However, after about 3 strips. I almost fell asleep the more, she waxed no lie. I have a high pain tolerance. IDK I JUST WORK HERE PEOPLE. 

Aftercare:
She told me to be sure to come back in 3 weeks. This would slow the amount of growth and how fast it grows. She also informed me that being bare "she" should be treated like my face. I should add regular exfoliation as well as toning to my routine, and the exfoliator comes with an oil; so oil as well. (News to me, I use Honey Pot PH wash and leave "her" alone) 

All in all. I enjoyed the service. I will be returning in 3 weeks. Does it make sex better as stated by Eva. I don't know, as my sex life is non-existing at this time.
